What Are We Doing To Help?

As a nation, we have become more eco-conscious than ever and are now finally taking action on reducing air pollution, energy use and garbage disposal for a cleaner, healthier place to live. As a business, Tower is always looking for ways to improve and be more sustainable in all areas, whether it is product packaging or energy used in our offices – we are trying our best to consistently progress to a more sustainable way of working.

WHAT STEPS HAS TOWER ALREADY TAKEN?

OUR WAREHOUSES

We have introduced in-house cardboard recycling machines at our warehouse to eliminate waste and reduce build-up of packaging for more efficient working. Our warehouse also recycles all of our plastic black shrink-wrap and we send all of our polystyrene to special recycling centres to dispose of correctly to ensure it does not end up in landfill. We utilise recyclable second use outer packaging for distribution deliveries. All of our warehouses and showrooms also have energy efficient lighting installed, which is motion-activated to avoid unnecessary use.

OUR COLLEAGUES

We know that our colleagues are a key part of our business and to help them contribute to a more sustainable work life, we have introduced a cycle to work scheme to reduce C02 emissions and to promote a healthier lifestyle, especially those with more sedentary roles. Tower has also introduced a flexible working from home policy to limit unnecessary travel, in turn cutting carbon emissions and fossil fuel consumption.

We also have a dedicated team in China to eliminate air travel where possible, to further reduce our C02 emissions.

WHAT ARE TOWER'S PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?

The UK is the 15th most eco-conscious country, falling behind on its air pollution and garbage disposal, according to new research. Tower is trying to be greener in all aspects of our business from top to bottom. Our aim is to create a climate positive organisation with sustainability at the heart of everything we do, with our mission being to reduce organisational CO2 emissions and material waste every single year until we become a carbon neutral organisation.

We are looking into more sustainable packaging and materials used in our products and have recently launched our fantastic range of sustainable products under the Natural Life Collection. This range of products makes it easier for everyone to make positive changes in the home and are made from quality sustainable and renewable materials. Natural Life by Tower are extremely proud to donate a percentage of the profit from every sale we make to support WeForest.
