10 MINS
1 MIN
1-2
INGREDIENTS
150g frozen strawberries
125g frozen raspberries
165g frozen mango
100ml fresh orange juice
METHOD
1. Gather all your ingredients and ensure your fruit is frozen. If your blender struggles with frozen fruit, allow the strawberries, raspberries, and mango to sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to slightly soften before blending. This helps achieve a smoother consistency.
2. Start by placing the frozen strawberries and raspberries into the blender.
3. Secure the lid and start blending on low speed. Gradually increase to high, blending for about 60 seconds or until the mixture is completely smooth. If your blender struggles, stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula before continuing.
4. Once blended together, pour into a glass and leave to one side.
5. In the same blender, add the mango and pour the fresh orange juice over the top. The liquid should be added last to help the blender process the frozen ingredients more efficiently.
6. Secure the lid and start blending on low speed. Gradually increase to high, blending for about 60 seconds or until the mixture is completely smooth. If your blender struggles, stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula before continuing. If the smoothie is too thick or difficult to blend, add a little more orange juice (about 25ml at a time) and blend again until you reach your desired consistency.
7. Once blended, taste the smoothies. If you prefer a sweeter flavour, add a small amount of honey or maple syrup (about 1 teaspoon at a time) and blend briefly to incorporate.
8. Pour the smoothies seperatly into a glass, staring with the orange and mango, then the raspberry and strawberry. Layer them over the top of eachother to generate a 'sunset' effect.
9. Serve straight away for the best taste and texture.
TIP
Add 2 tbsp of greek yoghurt to create a creamy texture.
