INGREDIENTS
90g oats
150g blueberries (fresh or frozen)
60ml vanilla yoghurt
120ml milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2.5ml maple syrup

 

METHOD

1.    Start by adding the oats to the blender. If you prefer a smoother consistency, you can blend the oats on their own first to create a fine oat flour. Then, add the blueberries, vanilla yoghurt, milk, and maple syrup. This layering helps ensure even blending and a creamy texture.


2.    Secure the blender lid and blend on high speed for about 30 – 60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If using frozen blueberries, you may need to blend for a little longer to break them down fully.


3.     If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more milk (about 30ml at a time) and blend again until the desired texture is reached. If you prefer a thicker smoothie, you can add a handful of ice cubes and blend again for a colder, more refreshing drink.


4.     Before pouring, taste the smoothie. If you’d like it a little sweeter, add a tiny bit more maple syrup and blend briefly to incorporate.

 

5.     Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately. For extra presentation, garnish with a dollop of vanilla yoghurt and few whole blueberries.

TIP

A dash of vanilla extract and cinnamon to enhance the muffin-like taste.
