WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN AN AIR FRYER WITH A BASKET AND AN AIR FRYER OVEN?
So you might be interested in buying an Air Fryer for your kitchen. Tower is the leading Air Fryer brand in the UK and it’s therefore a sensible decision to buy from Tower. One of the questions we constantly hear from our loyal consumers however, is “What type of Air Fryer is best for me?” With so much choice, we understand that deciding which Tower Air Fryer to buy could be a daunting decision.
So to help you we’ll outline two types of Air Fryers you can buy and highlight some of the key features for each type.
All air fryers have a heating element and a fan. Once the heating element reaches your desired temperature the fan blows hot air into the cooking chamber. The chamber is in the form of a basket which usually has holes dotted around it or a perforated platform at the bottom of the basket where food traditionally sits. The holes or platform are designed to allow the hot air to fully circle the food and give an even cook. Add a little oil to the food to give a crisp texture once cooked.
Air Fryer baskets come in a number of sizes, but they are great at cooking smaller portions for 1 or 2 people. They are traditionally used to cook single food types, ensuring even and thorough cooking throughout. Baskets are ideal for cooking the perfect chip, with hot air circulating around the food ensuring crispness in double quick time.
At Tower we make sure all of our basket Air Fryers come with our patented Vortx Technology. This means that our Air Fryers cook healthier and quicker than other brands, up to 30% faster in fact. One of our best selling basket Air Fryers with Vortx Technology is the T17072 Vortx Vizion Digital Air Fryer which also has a slightly larger capacity than other baskets at 7 litres.
Tower also leads the market when it comes to product innovation. Look no further than the T17088 Vortx 9 Litre Dual Basket Air Fryer for proof. By adding two 4.5L drawers you can cook twice the amount of food as a standard air fryer, making mealtimes faster. No more waiting for your sausages to cook before putting in your chips. With an intelligent Smart Finish Function, you can ensure different foods are ready at the same time, even if they have different cooking time.
The other type of Air Fryer available from Tower is the Air Fryer oven. Air Fryer ovens have risen in popularity over the last few years with Tower selling more than 2 million in the UK alone. Similar to Air Fryers with baskets, air fryer ovens also have a heating element and a fan. More importantly the element tends to be a higher wattage so more powerful and instead of a basket, the cooking chamber is a mini oven chamber. Unlike in a traditional oven, the fan and heating element are above the food rather than behind it, ensuring food is cooked from all angles for that authentic crisp taste.
Air Fryer ovens therefore tend to be larger and heavier than their basket counterpart but offer more versatility. However, they make up for the added size with fantastic cooking results. Because they generally come with a larger oven capacity they can cook larger portions that basket air fryers and a wider array of food types. This is ideal for larger families or meals, as you can cook your entire evening meal in one go, making mealtimes less stressful and fuss-free.
Tower’s most successful range of Air Fryer ovens is the Xpress Range. This range combines Tower’s trademarked Vortx technology with 10 different cooking styles! The T17076 Xpress Pro Combo allows the user to Bake, Grill, Roast, oh and of course Air Fry! It also comes with a rotisserie cooking function which has proved to be our most popular cooking feature with authentically spit roasted chicken ready for serving in under an hour. A glass window on the front of the oven allows you to see when your food is ready.
Moreover, more and more people are using their Tower Air Fryer oven instead of their conventional oven. Not only does it cook food quicker and is easier to clean but the amount of energy used is considerably lower. Using our Air Fryer ovens instead of a conventional oven could save up to £380 in energy every year!
