INGREDIENTS
4 large croissants
4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
100g grated cheese 
Salt and pepper

METHOD

1.    In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley (if using). Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.


2.    Using a sharp knife, carefully slice each croissant crosswise in a "hassleback" style, making 5-6 cuts but not slicing all the way through, leaving the base intact. This creates small pockets for the garlic butter and cheese.


3.     Spread the garlic butter mixture generously between the slices of each croissant. Make sure to get the butter into all the crevices.


4.     Stuff the grated cheese into the cuts of the croissants, distributing it evenly.

 

5.     Preheat your air fryer to 180°C.


6.     Place the croissants in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 180°C for 8-10 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

TIP

Serve with a warm bowl of French onion soup.
